It is controversial whether it is appropriate to use quartz type immersed nozzle bricks or corundum graphite immersed type nozzle bricks when casting low-alloy steel deoxidized steel semi-deoxidized steels and non-deoxidized steels. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the use effect from the aspects of performance production conditions, social benefits, environmental protection conditions and economic benefits, so as to find the basis for selecting the material and structure of the product in order to achieve the best results. The immersion nozzle brick is a product for preventing the oxidation of molten steel and evenly supplying the molten steel to the continuous casting machine crystallizer in order to ensure that the specified crystallization conditions and the performance of the continuous casting slab are achieved. Therefore, when summarizing all the requirements for immersed nozzle bricks, the characteristics of its use as a multi-functional structure and the technical conditions for the operational reliability level should be considered. The technical conditions for immersed nozzle bricks only include data on the porosity and shape and size of the chemical composition. Foreign companies also provide indicators of the product's guaranteed service life under the conditions required by the caster's steel casting process specification and the conditions for the operation of the immersion nozzle brick. In Russia's steel smelting practice, there is a standard time of use of immersed nozzle bricks based on the different types of steel being poured. The properties of the refractories and the steel casting process parameters together determine the continuous casting machine's production capacity and the surface quality of the slab and the number of non-metallic inclusions in the caster. Deviating from the standard requirements of the casting process will degrade the quality of the continuous casting slab. At the beginning and end of the casting, the effect of the above deviation is most pronounced when replacing the ladle tundish or the immersed nozzle. Under such conditions, the submerged nozzle bricks are replaced on the slab caster. For each hour, less one strand is cast and a waste is caused by the ribbon structure.
