2 rolling boots with additional damping block

For a linear rolling guide pair consisting of a rectangular steel guide rail and a roller rolling shoe, a damping block can be attached to its working plane. This type of damping block, also known as vibration-damping sliding shoe or damping shoe, is produced by a professional bearing factory or machine tool functional parts factory. It is used on some imported machine tools and has good vibration damping performance after installation. An example of its application is shown in Figure 3.

The damping block is arranged in the guiding mechanism and covers the largest possible area, and a gap is also left between the surface and the steel rail to form a squeeze oil film. This kind of damping block is actually a kind of flat sliding guide that is not in direct contact and can be designed and manufactured by itself. We designed this damping block on the inverted head longitudinal rail (Z) of the "SHZ1044 twin-spindle vertical turning center". The vibration damping block can be made of steel or cast iron as the base. After processing, the rail soft belt (we use TURCITE soft belt material) is attached to the mating surface, and then the corresponding guide rail is matched (grinding or scraping) to make the two surfaces A gap of 0.03 mm is formed between the two, and the oil hole is drilled, and finally installed between the two roller sliding shoes, that is, a rolling guide mechanism having a vibration reducing function is formed, as shown in FIG.

Another effect of using a damper slide or a damper shoe is to improve the impact safety performance, suppress the plastic deformation caused by the impact, and reduce the damage of the mechanism.

3 Application of vibration damping guide mechanism

The above two types of rail damping methods are applied in the "SHZ1044 twin-spindle vertical turning center", which proves that the effect is good. The horizontal (X) guide rail is equipped with the RUDS damper slide produced by INA Bearing Company of Germany; the vertical direction (Z) guide rail of the inverted head adopts the self-designed and manufactured plastic damper slide. The cost of the self-made damping shoe is lower than the cost of the imported damping shoe, and the length of the damping shoe can be arbitrarily set according to the size of the guiding mechanism, which is economically feasible.

The vibration-damping rolling guide system with damper slide or damper slide is rarely used in China's machine tools. One important reason is that there is no professional factory in China. We hope that through the introduction of this article, domestic production and production of such rolling vibration-damping components can be promoted and used in domestically produced equipment, contributing to the ranks of China's machine tool manufacturing industry.
