Dusseldorf, Germany, at 4 pm on November 29th, as an important event during the 11th International Aluminium Industry Exhibition (2016 Germany), the results of the “Austrian Aluminum Excellence Award 2016†officially announced . A total of 10 products and projects have won this year's awards.
The "European Aluminum Excellence Award" was initiated by the initiative of the Dutch Aluminum Center. It is supported by the European Aluminum Association, the German Aluminum Association and Reed Exhibitions. It is held every two years and has been held 10 times. The awards issued in 2016 were determined by the jury in the final vote of the 19 short-listed products previously screened out. The 19 finalists were selected from 52 declared products from 18 countries. The award-winning products reflect the high efficiency and forward-looking nature of aluminum materials and reflect the advantages of aluminum in innovative ways.
It is reported that designers, manufacturers and builders can all participate in this award which belongs to the field of industrial design and processing and manufacturing. The awards are divided into six different categories. Whether it is a "consumer product", "industrial product", "end product" or "parts and components" products, all of them can participate in the competition.

Previously Audi A8 and Audi A2 won the 1994 and 2000 Automotive Excellence Awards respectively. At the time of this award's entry into the 10th, the jury unanimously agreed to award this lifetime achievement award to Audi. They deserve it.
This year will also be the second from the "design and lifestyle" award-winning products selected a "public award", is the public on the Internet and social media voting. The outdoor lighting developed jointly by Project 21c and Sapa company SAPA Extrusions won this award.
The “European Aluminum Excellence Award†was organized by an independent international jury, led by Professor Laurens Katgerman from Delft University, and other jury members from Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, and Denmark. In principle, the product must be designed for mass production and serial production. According to the review rules, the review committee will compare the various categories of products participating in the review and make independent assessments. The winner of the Aluminum Award for Excellence was awarded a trophy made of aluminum and a certificate of award.

1. Combined Table System (Swedish Grumdesign & Lammhults)
With two basic units, namely an extruded aluminum alloy beam and cast support, this new table product has exceptional flexibility and can be adapted to a wide range of shapes and sizes. The product is easy to produce and can be customized according to the structure of the user's special apartment. In February 2016, it was put into mass production.
The designer is Troels Grum-Schwensen. The aluminium extrusions are supplied by Sapa, Sweden. The cast aluminum legs are made by Sweden's NYSTR?MS. The table producer is Sweden's LAMMHULTS.
2. Solar panel finger panel die casting (Austria Druckguss)
In ground-mounted PV installations, castings are necessary to deal with strong wind loads. In the field of alternative energy, the product demonstrates the potential of die castings as structural parts. This is a die-cast integrated smart power system. The structural design is changed from laser cutting design to casting design. The structure and function of the parts are combined perfectly and the production cost is reduced.

3. Outdoor Lighting (Project 21c / SAPA Extrusions)
Vialuce is an outdoor solar luminaire that can be used in private or public areas. It can meet the lighting needs that current standard lamps can't provide. Vialuce does not require any external power supply, low installation cost, simple and practical, can be excavated to the existing gardens or buildings to configure.
The product design is provided by Mr. Renaud Heymans / Mr. Serge van Rutten; Sapa Aluminium; manufacturer is Sapa Extrusion Raeren + Metaux Emboutis sa.

4. Indoor Atrium Aluminum Facade Wall (Belgium AVC)
An indoor atrium of Barco's new headquarters "One Campus" in Barco, Belgium. The interior wall is made of curved aluminum with machine glass. The interior wall was designed, manufactured and installed by AVC Doors & Walls and installed on different ellipsoidal floors. In order to make the atrium have a terrace effect, the floor also has a curved structure. The minimalist abstract art wall is made of aluminum frame.

5. Aluminium windshield (Netherlands Bayards Aluminumconstructions)
When working at sea, bad weather can hinder the crew's work. Norway's national energy company Statoil also experienced similar unfavorable scenarios brought about by the weather conditions at sea. In order to reduce downtime and ensure the safety of the crew, Bayards Aluminumconstructions proposed a solution that uses aluminum as a wind wall to solve the above problems.
The design and manufacturer is Bayards Aluminum construction in the Netherlands.
6. Aluminium Exterior and Rooftop Houses (Buro II & Archi+ I, Belgium)
Designed for the Blanco Oostduinkerke residential project, a two-tiered townhouse, the exterior walls and roofs of the house are made of aluminum alloy panels with a uniform design pattern to reflect the unique architectural style. The preferred material is white aluminum. In today's coastal buildings, aluminum has interpreted the style of coastal architecture. The housing of the house is made of a standing seam structure.

7. Customized high-tech aluminum alloy glass building facade (Belgium GrovenPlus)
Nieuw Havenhuis, located in Port of Antwerp, Belgium, is the headquarters of the Port Authority. The office building is located in Zaha Hadidplein 1, named Dame Zaha Hadid. Zaha Hadid is a well-known architect who died unexpectedly before the building was about to be completed. The facade of the office building in Antwerp is made of aluminum and glass and has a wavy surface that reflects the unusual location of the building adjacent to the water. It also reflects Antwerp as a symbol of the city of diamonds.

8. Anodized aluminum alloy wall in office buildings (Seraing/Switzerland Novellis, Belgium)
In the L'Orangerie project, the walls of the Nobilis Novelli J57S? anodized aluminum alloy were used. The project area is 6,500 square meters and is the headquarters of Cockerill Maintenance & Ingénierie of Belgian Mechanical Engineering Group in Seraing. In this project, Novelis introduced the enhanced product J57S UP?. By improving the quality of anodization, the product meets the needs of architectural innovative design. It is particularly evident that the building uses a three-dimensional cover.

9. Elst Railway Station P+R Parking Building Aluminum Facade (Van Campen Industries, The Netherlands)
The aluminum exterior wall of the P+R parking building at Elst Railway Station in the Netherlands is a pre-machined aluminum part made of curved aluminum. The resulting visual effects embody the dynamics and depth of the wall, giving the building a mobile effect. The parking building is adjacent to the train line and perfectly illustrates the vitality of the railway.
