The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced on the 26th that the industrial and mining statistics report showed that in January this year, the Japanese industrial and mining production index was 91.9 after seasonal adjustment, up 2.5% from the previous month. The data also showed that in January of this year, the Japanese industrial and mining shipment index was 92.7, up 2.4% from the previous month; the inventory index was 94.5, up 1.0% from the previous month.
Specific to various industries, transportation equipment, chemicals and metal products increased significantly, rising by 5.5%, 3.3% and 5.3% respectively.
