According to reports, Aquamantra, a mineral water producer in California, USA, recently launched a degradable bottle of mineral water globally.
The new plastic bottle adopts Eco-Pure modified PET resin, which is different from traditional oxidative degradation technology. It mainly supplements the regeneration process of the mechanical bottle instead of forming interference and has biodegradability, but it will not affect the mechanical regeneration activity. .
Eco-Pure resin mixes 99% of standard PET resin and 1% of organic additives. Additives will make PET more susceptible to bacterial attack under aerobic and anoxic conditions. When the microorganisms phagocytize the additives, acidic substances are produced, which expands the PET resin matrix, and finally the polymer is decomposed.
The company claims that Eco-Pure bottles will completely decompose in 1-5 years when placed in an anaerobic landfill environment.
