Rising prices of building materials topped home fabrics and floorboards

No. 6 was informed by the Municipal Development and Reform Commission that based on the sales prices of nearly 100 building materials sales businesses in 10 building materials markets, the price index of building materials in our city was 106.21 in February, which was a year-on-year increase of 6.21%, a record high. The volume index of building materials has been declining all the way, and the rise in prices has inhibited the purchasing power index of the public. In February, it fell to 95.32, that is, the number of sales decreased by 4.68% year-on-year.

The data shows that the prices of the 14 major categories of products under monitoring have increased in an all-round manner, among which the home furnishing category, floor categories, and doors and windows category have risen in the top three, reaching 7.45%, 7.32% and 7.13% respectively; cabinets, timbers, and paints. The price of paints and basic building materials also rose rapidly, reaching 5%; sanitary ware and lamps increased by only 1%.
