The topic is mainly about the history of kitchen furniture. The first topic is the Kitchen Furniture Professional Committee of the China Furniture Association launched the "Review of Chinese Kitchen Furniture for 20 Years" activity. Why did Mr. Mou do this review?
Every history needs to be reviewed
[Mu Yong]: A 20-year review is very necessary. We need to review every period of our history. We have formed a large industry. All the big industries are all companies walking forward with their heads sullen. For example, some of our leading companies, Oupai, Kebao, and Haier, all follow their own market judgment and adapt to the development of the situation.
But as an industry, from the point of view of the enterprise to the point of view of the industry, I think it is still the work that industry associations should do. Every enterprise has its limitations, not a comprehensive problem of an industry. Let's sum up, for example, we, the European School, have been unable to open the market in Beijing in the past few years, and have always suffered losses in Beijing, or have not made much profits. It became a heart disease of President Yao; after some adjustments, including the adjustment of personnel and the adjustment of products, these two years have developed rapidly. There must have been mistakes in the past. Why not make money without mistakes. At this time, everyone will take a look at it. Which places are our strengths and which are our weaknesses, how far we are from the world's kitchen furniture, summarizing classic events and cases, on this basis we proposed this activity, and our Chinese furniture and kitchen industry also needs a strategy. [Moderator]: 20 years in the kitchen, what is the iconic event that defines this history?
The iconic event of the origin of the kitchen furniture industry
[Zhu Changling]: Let me first make it clear that what we are talking about here should be kitchen furniture, the concept of kitchen is too big. The Kitchen Furniture Professional Committee of China Furniture Association is going to engage in an activity to review the development of the kitchen furniture industry over the past 20 years.
The iconic event in the kitchen furniture industry was the housing industrialization proposed by the Ministry of Construction in 1989, and a residential industrialization agency was established to put forward the requirements for the kitchen revolution. At that time, some facilities and kitchens in our kitchen The furniture used here, including stovetops and stoves, are brought together to form a series, which puts forward new requirements for the integration of kitchen parts.
At that time, the relevant leaders of the Housing Industrialization Office had approached the then light industry ministry interior kit company to discuss how to treat light industry kitchen supplies as kitchen components, including cabinets, stoves, range hoods, and garbage disposal. Appliances, including various kitchen utensils, put these products together as an accessory. After efforts, the two sides have formed a mechanism for supporting parts.
[Moderator]: What are the stages in the development of kitchen furniture and what revolutionary changes have occurred?

[Zhu Changling]: Development in the past 20 years, said in stages, began to meet the basic needs of the stage, such as the range hood hanging on the wall, stove underneath, the development of the mid-1990s entered another stage, the introduction of foreign Some of the more advanced furniture manufacturing technology, the panel furniture and kitchen appliances are matched together, so as to form an overall image, even the cabinets plus the following cabinets, put the refrigerator, microwave oven, etc. into, put the household appliances It's also convenient to put it into a whole kitchen, especially the vegetable wash basin, which was originally made of ceramics, and is now made of stainless steel or other materials.
Since the mid-1990s, there have been some domestic enterprises making kitchen furniture. The earlier ones were Baoshi Company in Harbin, Northeast China, and Beijing Kebao Company, which produced kitchen furniture and housing industrialization. After 20 years of development, kitchen furniture has changed in the furniture industry. Into a big industry. Its output value is more than 20 billion yuan, which has become an important part of home decoration, accounting for a large proportion of home improvement. Now, kitchen furniture has been accepted by most residents. Many enterprises produce branded furniture. There are dozens of good influential brands in China, which have established Chinese kitchen furniture brands.
Three major changes in the kitchen furniture industry in 20 years
During this process, some relatively big changes have taken place in this industry:
First of all, the original real estate sales, that is, what Beijing can do is sold to Beijing, what Shanghai does is sold to Shanghai, has developed to the country and even a large foreign sales network, the market is expanding;
Second, the products and accessories are localized, and kitchen furniture is fully equipped in China. From the perspective of modeling, we basically imitated the appearance of foreign countries, the volume is large, the console is foreign form, and now gradually become suitable for Chinese people, suitable for Chinese cooking, according to the size of the kitchen, including our Range hoods, cooktops, and other electrical equipment, all meet the needs of Chinese consumers;
Third, we use advanced IT technology in this field, which is the earliest application. For example, we now use the Internet. Beijing franchisees can set drawings and styles on the spot with consumers. Through E-mail, we can use this It is sent directly to the manufacturer, and then the manufacturer directly produces and the franchise shop directly installs. Everyone uses the IT network. This is also a sign of our industry. This should be said to have greatly promoted the development of the industry.
Several major changes in these years have promoted the rapid development of this industry. Our output value has reached 20 billion. So many brands have been developed in the process of gradual reshuffle, and the requirements of safety, hygiene and environmental protection have been gradually implemented into the production process.
In 1999, we organized to formulate the industry standard for kitchen furniture. This industry standard is currently being revised. The new kitchen furniture standard continues to be implemented in the industry and provides corresponding technical requirements. The relevant national departments have also formulated some standards for the corresponding products, which is a good thing for this industry. Enterprises attach great importance to standard work, especially large enterprises, and also play a very good role in promoting the implementation of standards.
Therefore, from this perspective, it is necessary for our industry to summarize some of our 20 years of advanced experience, the journey we have made in these years, including the detours we have taken, for the next step in the healthy development of our industry, It plays an important role in supporting the construction, industrialization of housing, and the construction of a well-off society. At the same time, in accordance with the requirements of maintaining growth, protecting people's livelihood, and maintaining stability, in the case of sluggish export sales, it should continue to contribute to expanding domestic sales and promoting consumption.
[Moderator]: It means to sum up some successful experiences on the basis of 20 years and to set a foundation for future development. I think this is also the responsibility of our association, and our media also has this obligation to promote and summarize. Now that kitchen furniture has developed to the present stage, Mr. Zhu just said that it is a long history. What is the status quo when it develops to the present?
[Zhu Changling]: In the past few years, our furniture industry has been developing at a rate of 30% annual growth. Since last year, we have encountered an international financial crisis. This year ’s growth is about 8%. Exports fell by 9.8% from January to June, but Our domestic production is still growing by 8%. I think this data can also reflect the development of the kitchen furniture industry, that is, domestic sales have not dropped significantly, and the results have been good with everyone ’s efforts.
The kitchen furniture industry was just a budding in 1989, and it didn't even have a prototype. By the mid-1990s, it had a prototype, and now our domestic large-scale brand enterprises have formed, and they have a certain share in the market, and the products have won the country Regarding various awards issued by relevant departments, this industry should be said to be a mature and healthy industry, which has played a role in promoting the housing industrialization process.
Especially in the current ups and downs of the real estate market, our industry still has a lot of vitality. One situation is that the turnkey projects of finely decorated houses must be supported by us. In addition, after buying the rough house, the general public must also renovate the kitchen, and also use this brand to do it. The industry has progressed. Inferior, rough or adversely affecting the environment and the human body are basically rare, and the quality has been greatly improved. This is also the current characteristic of our industry.
To sum up, first, the product quality is guaranteed; second, the production process has been improved; third, the color brand can meet everyone's needs.
In terms of craftsmanship, kitchen furniture sheets have melamine veneers, various paint finishes, plastics, and metal veneers. Everyone has a lot of choice and personalization. . We have a lot of enterprises. In recent years, we have carried out basic construction and made technical transformations. Larger enterprises like Oupai, Kebao, Haier, etc. Chengdu is a relatively fast-developing furniture area. Our gold cabinets in Xiamen, Kangjie in Hebei and Totem Baojia in Beijing have also formed our team. Everyone often participates in our activities to discuss some issues together so that our industry can develop healthily.
In general, it should be said that production has reached a certain level, production capacity can guarantee market supply, and enterprises and distributors have sales networks that can basically meet demand.
Non-standard construction affects the development of kitchen furniture
[Moderator]: The kitchen has been developing for so long, there are still many unsolved problems, and I am facing many bottlenecks, including what I have learned. For example, its industrialization may not be as fast as other household products. There are still many factors that hinder its development, please tell us about it.
[Zhu Changling]: I think there are several aspects about the factors hindering development or the current problems. One of the more serious problems that everyone has reflected for many years is that our building rooms are not standardized, which affects our kitchen furniture industry, such as kitchen The pipeline has not yet completely entered the wall, the water supply and drainage in the kitchen, and the gas pipeline have not been placed centrally.
