Wärtsilä Svanehøj has announced that it has worked closely with LNG Fuel Systems Design to develop a new ECA fuel Pump (EFP) to support gas-fueled engines for greater efficiency.
According to reports, this new Wärtsilä pump does not require a fuel tank connection under the liquid surface, and there is no need for power components in the fuel tank, and no gas evaporation occurs. The small heat and pressure make this new pump safe to operate, maintaining stable pressure even in harsh operating environments, ensuring continuous supply of gas to the LNG engine.
The Wärtsilä SvanehøjECA fuel pump is designed to be compatible with Wärtsilä's LNGPac fuel injection and supply system and meets the operational requirements of the ECA area for ships. The new pump can also be used with other types of fuels such as ethane and methanol.
There are currently more than 5,000 Wärtsilä Svanehøj deep well gas pumps operating worldwide. The latest version of the pump is designed to achieve a service life cycle of at least 25,000 operating hours or 5 years.
